Gosto muito de rotinas de pele. E como não sou uma morning person, é à noite que mais gosto de gastar um bocadinho mais de tempo a cuidar da minha pele e a relaxar. É também à noite que as nossas células têm a capacidade de se regenerar, por isso é sempre bom que foquemos os nossos produtos de tratamento e massagens ou máscaras antes de deitar.

Normalmente, não uso um produto duas vezes seguidas (a menos que o adore), não que seja desaconselhável, apenas porque gosto de experimentar várias marcas e várias linhas, de ver se resulta ou não e o que posso aconselhar às minhas clientes. Assim sendo, estes são os produtos que estou a usar neste momento (e que complemento com outros mais específicos quando é necessário).

Como tomo banho à noite, é aí que lavo a minha pele e retiro toda a maquilhagem e sujidade do meu rosto. Por vezes adopto o estilo coreano e faço uma limpeza com óleos desmaquilhante antes da limpeza com água e gel.

Depois do banho começo então os passos de que vos quero falar. Primeiro borrifo o rosto com a Água Termal da Avène, que me acalma a vermelhidão, e de seguida aplico a Água Micelar da Bioderma, ambas que me acompanham há anos tanto em casa como em trabalho. Por mais que experimente outras, estas são as minha favoritas – a água micelar remove a restante sujidade (e até maquilhagem) da pele muito eficazmente e não a deixa ressequida; é óptima também para se usar de manhã.

De seguida, pulo o tónico conventual e uso o Glow Tonic, da Pixi, que compro online na ASOS. Este tónico tem feito pequenos milagres na minha pele! Depois de ter tido uma crise terrível de acne há um ano atrás, fiquei cheia de marcas na zona do pescoço e linha da mandibula (sou só eu que acho que esta palavra soa super mal?). E este tónico é perfeito para as eliminar – contém ácido glicólico (5%), que faz uma micro esfoliação e ajuda a remover células mortas à superfície do rosto. Enfim, são 250ml de pura magia, já que é um dos poucos produtos em que vi resultados REAIS ao final de algumas semanas. A minha pele adorou e as manchas começaram finalmente a desaparecer.

Depois desta ritual todo, borrifo de novo a minha pele com a água termal - há qualquer coisa de sofisticado no acto de borrifar o rosto com água termal, como se estivesse de férias numa praia em Ibiza com um cocktail na mão. Não? Talvez seja só na minha cabeça. But I’ll take it!

Eis que chega a minha parte favorita, o creme. Estou a acabar o Hydramax + Active Gel Cream da linha Précision da Chanel e só por isso já me sinto rica, pelo menos no que toca à minha pele. Este creme tem uma textura em gel maravilhosa que, ao início parece que não nos vai dar a hidratação que precisamos, de tão fina e suave que é. A verdade é que hidrata muito bem e é perfeito para acompanhar uma massagem facial. Também é um dos produtos da categoria testei-aprovei-adorei em que vi resultados concretos - depois de uma semana a minha pele ficou mega macia e hidratada. E o cheiro! Vamos falar do cheiro? Somos transportadas, como a borrifadela da água termal, para outro local bem mais maravilhoso e chic do que este. Em suma, um sonho de produto, um pesadelo de preço.

Chanel Hydramax + Active Gel Cream

Depois do que pareceu ser uma hora no spa (mas que foram apenas uns minutos em casa), uso o All About Eyes da Clinique, que é um dos cremes de olhos mais vendidos, daí a razão para eu o estar a experimentar. Desempenha muito bem o seu papel de hidratante e é bastante suave e delicado, fora isso, e apesar de dizer na embalagem que reduz olheiras e inchaço, não faz muito mais. A verdade é que nunca usei um creme de olhos que me enchesse as medidas, e este não foi diferente. Já estou quase a acabar o boião e o veredicto é bom, sim, mas nada de me ouvirem dizer maravilhas dele.

Chego então à última etapa da noite, que muitas vezes é esquecida (shame on me!). Uso o Cicalfate Hand Cream da Avéne nas mãos – seca num instante e cria uma espécie de película protectora na pele, gosto muito da sensação.

I really like skincare routines. And since I’m not usually a morning person, I like to spend some extra time on my relaxation and beauty regimen before bed. It is also during the night that our skin cells are able to regenerate, so it’s always a good idea to use our best treatment products, massages and masks in the evening.

I usually don’t use a product twice in a row (unless I absolutely love it), not that you shouldn’t, but because I like to try new brands and lines, to see what works and what it doesn’t so I can recommend it to my clients. Therefore, here are the products I’m using at the moment (which I complement with other specific ones when necessary).

Since I shower before bed, that’s the time I take to cleanse my skin and remove every bit of makeup and dirtiness. Sometimes I even go korean style and cleanse with oils before cleansing again with face gel and water.

After I shower the real ritual begins. Firstly I spritz my face with Avène Thermal Water to calm my redness down and apply some Bioderma Micelar Water, both of which have been with me for years at home and work. As much as I keep trying others, these are my all time favourites – the micelar water effectively removes any remaining dirt (and makeup) and doesn’t dry the skin; it’s specially great to be used in the mornings.

Then I skip my conventional tonic and apply the Pixi Glow Tonic that I buy online at ASOS. This is a miracle worker! After having a terrible acne crisis a year ago, my neck and jaw line were left full of scars. This product is perfect to get rid of them – it had glycolic acid (5%) which helps exfoliate and remove dead cells on the surface of the skin. It’s 250ml of pure magic since it’s one of the few products I could actually see REAL results after a few weeks of use. My skin loves it and the dreadful acne scars are finally fading.

After all this I spray some thermal water again – there’s something about the sophisticated act of spritzing your face with thermal water, like you’re on holiday in some beach in Ibiza having a cocktails. No? Maybe just in my head then, but I’ll take it!

Here’s my favourite part, the face cream. At the moment I’m finishing the Chanel Précision Hydramax + Active Cream Gel and I feel rich already, at least when it comes to my skin. I’m loving this wonderful gel texture – when you first put it on it feels like it’s not going to hydrate your skin enough because it’s so thin and smooth. The truth is it really does hydrate you enough and it’s perfect for a quick facial massage. It’s also one of those few products I absolutely loved and felt real results – after a week my skin was significantly more smooth and hydrated. And the smell! Shall we talk about the smell? I feel, like the spritz of thermal water, I’m being transported to a much more wonderful and chic place than this. A dreamy product, a pricey nightmare.

After what felt like an hour at the spa (but just a few minutes at home) I use Clinique All About Eyes, one of the most sold eye creams around, reason enough for me to give it a try. It performs well enough as a moisturizer and it’s very soft and gentle. Besides that and in spite saying in the packaging that it reduces dark circles and puffs, it doesn’t do much more. The truth is I have never used an eye cream that I loved and this was no different. I’m almost finishing this product and can say that it’s good indeed, but not extraordinary.

Finally the last step of the evening, which I tend to sometimes forget (shame on me!). I apply some Avéne Cicalfate on my hands – it dries very quickly and creates some sort of thin protective layer on the skin. I really like the feeling.
